strategy session

A Steelers sideline strategy session during a break in first quarter action. Pittsburgh couldn't seem to get much going against Denver in this preseason outing, but my wife & I still enjoyed being at the game. Folks got a kick out of the fact that she had on a Broncos jersey while I wore my Steelers one. There were a ton of other Steelers fans there, which was cool and made me more than a bit homesick.

Steelers – Well it’s that time of year again. Time to get the beer, snacks, comfy chairs and the jersey’s out. It’s September which means it’s time for football. It’s also time to invest in spackling and chicken wire just in case a hand or head goes through a wall due to an enraged response of a bad call or lame mistake. Whether it is due to a celebration or enraged protest something is bound to get broken - why, because it’s football.

I wore my #86 Hines Ward jersey to the game, and here you see the fearless Mr Ward about to take on a Broncos linebacker (Mario Haggan #57). Hines Ward has a well-deserved reputation as one of the most physical wide receivers to ever play the game.

I like this shot because you can see the Broncos are doing some stellar blocking in the middle of the field, but there's Troy Polamalu (#43) already four yards in the backfield just a split-second after LenDale White (#26) has received the handoff from Kyle Orton (#8). Steelers linebacker Larry Foote (#50) is also homing in on the ball carrier.
